The East-West Cancer Center of Daejeon University was opened as the first Korean medicine hospital in Korea in 1991. It is the first integrated cancer center in Korea to treat cancer patients using an integrated cancer treatment system.

Wheel balanced cancer therapy is a holistic medicine based on oriental medicine, and has been scientifically proven for more than 20 years.
We aim to suppress tumor shrinkage and recurrence of metastasis through Korean medicine chemotherapy, metabolic activity therapy and respiratory meditation therapy.

01. Treatment goal

Develop a treatment plan based on patient’s treatment goals.


02. Inpatient treatment

Inpatient treatment for about two to four weeks (depending on the patient's purpose of treatment) is one cycle.


03. Outpatient treatment and regular examination

After patient is discharged, patient will continue to see outpatient treatment and progress depending on the type of cancer, constitution, and progress.


04. Complete cure

Conduct progress observation and preventive treatment according to regular inspection

Advanced breast cancer
5 year survival rate increase

Compared with TCM non users, TCM users who had Jia wei Xiao Yao San, Xiang Sha Liu Jun Zi Tang, Gui Pi Tang,Pu Gong Ying, Bai Hua She SheCao, Huang Qi, Dan Shen, Ban Zhi Lian  showed 18.4% higher 5-year survival rate(TCM non users showed 44.7%, TCM users showed 63.1% respectively.) in advanced breast cancer.

Patients with stage 3-4 non-small cell lung cancer Increased survival rate for combined cancer treatment

Patients with stage 3-4 non-small cell lung cancer who received a combination of herbal medicine inculding Astragali Radix, Ligustri Lucidi Fructus, Cervi Pantotrichum Cornu, Atractylodis Rhizoma, Dioscoreae Rhizoma etc. in the multicenter prospective study, had a increased survival time compared to patients who received conventinal tratments.

Patients with advanced gastric cancer Increased survival rate for integrative cancer treatment

Advanced gastric cancer patients who were treated with herbal medicine improving spleen and gastric had a 10-month longer survival than patients who received conventional treatment only.

Patients with metastatic prostate cancer who took a prescription of Chinese medicine such as Shihogayonggolmoryo-tang , had a 5 year survival rate of about 15.8% compared to those who received only conventional treatment. Increased to the highest.

Liver cancer patients who had taken the herbal medicine had a 2.8 month longer survival and a 6.1 month longer disease-free survival than those who had liver resection only.
